This Speyside single malt begins its life with 12 years in traditional ex-bourbon American oak barrels before spending its signature finale in deeply toasted virgin American oak casks imported from Kentucky. The additional toasting in Balvenie’s cooperage amplifies wood-driven character, showcasing apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie’s innovative approach within the “Stories” series.

Nose: Rich malt sweetness, candied orange peel, lemon drops, gentle vanilla, toasted oak spice, a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg


Palate: Creamy and medium-bodied with honeyed toffee, caramelized nuts, toasted coconut, ginger spice, raspberry tartness, hints of pickled orange peel


Finish: Warm and balanced—vanilla oak, light licorice, honey, and lingering spice
